Cook with Kids to Grow Love for Ingredients, Says Study

kids cookingNew Delhi, Wednesday, May 20 – Generally people avoid cooking with kids, taking into consideration their naughtiness and the fear of any accidents with sharp tools in the cooking area. However, a recent research brings to light the significance of motivating kids to help in food preparation.

The more they touch raw kitchen staples, fruits and vegetables, the more they fall in love with colorful ingredients. This further enables them learn more about cooking elements. The curiosity compels them to taste prepared food, which indirectly meets nutrition required by the body.

Children usually do not love the taste of leafy greens. In fact, parents have to hide the healthful spinach, corianders etc. in homemade sandwiches and paranthas.  But when junior cooks are asked to lend a hand in kitchen tasks, the interest towards an assortment of ingredients automatically starts to grow, the research mentions further.
