banNew Delhi, Monday, September 28 – Bangladesh A tour of India A at present turned exciting when bowling lineup of the host thrashed the visitors to put an early pressure. Preparations at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, were all done to host the contest in an organized manner.

Shikhar Dhawan captained team India. He won the toss and decided to invite the rivals to bat first. The job wasn’t easy as the Men in Blue got the taste of defeat by the rising stars of cricket nearly three months ago on Bangladesh’s soil.

Having Abhinav Mukund as the opener, Karun Nair, Abhimanyu Mithun, Ishwar Pandey, Varun Aaron, Naman Ojha, Jayant Yadav, Vijay Shankar, Shreyas Iyer and Ravindra Jadeja in the team, Shikhar Dhawan was positive to put a cap on Bangladesh A’s innings.  Manish Pandey, Baba Aparajith, Sheldon Jackson, and Shreyas Gopal were the players on bench.

Bangladesh A playing XI was guided by Mominul Haque. Those who were parts of it were Anamul Haque, Litton Das, Sabbir Rahman, Nasir Hossain, Saqlain Sajib, Rubel Hossain, Shafiul Islam, Shuvagata Hom, Jubair Hossain and Soumya Sarkar. Besides them, Arafat Sunny, Al-Amin Hossain, Kamrul Islam Rabbi and Rony Talukdar are also on tour of the country but eye a chance to perform.

It was extremely shocking to see 6 Bangladesh A players losing their wickets as a zero. Those who failed to contribute any score in the team’s total were the opening duo Anamul Haque & Soumya Sarkar, Litton Das, Shafiul Islam, Rubel Hossain  and Jubair Hossain. Top and lower batting order collapsed completely. The skipper added 2 runs and was soon out by Aaron. Saqlain Sajib faced 28 balls, however, scored 4 runs before being sent back to the pavilion by Jayant Yadav.

The quality display of the batting was shown by Sabbir Rahman, whose not out knock of 122 runs in just 131 balls, helped his team put a respectable total in their first innings. 23 fours and 1 six was the highlight of his outstanding show against India. Nasir Hossain with 32 runs in 28 balls, inclusive of seven boundaries. Shuvagata Hom  although fell short to Aaron but his innings of 62 runs in 95 balls, with nine fours and a six, the second highest total of the day lent a hand to Bangladesh A to put a total of 228 runs in 52.4 overs.

India had a good start as the opener Mukund struck four classing shots to play a knock of 34 runs in 78 balls. He gave his wicket to Hom in 31st over. Captain Dhawan is batting at 116 runs with Iyer, who will resume today’s play at 6 runs. India are so far strong at 161 runs in 33 overs. They have 9 wickets in hand and this is the biggest problem for the travelers. Their motto for today will be to show Indian batsmen a way back to the pavilion as early as possible.

Despite the fact that the contest is not able to gain attention of several viewers, both teams are eager to end it with a win. Fans want the Dhawan-led home team to log a triumph, especially when most of them are to perform in the tournament that is to be held between India and South Africa this week.
