Inflation Rate Tumbles but Edible Bulbs, Pulses Continue to Disturb Household Budget

onionNew Delhi, Wednesday, September 16 – According to official data, inflation rate of the country fell further in August but a number of commodities consumed by the masses for survival carried on disturbing household budgets.

Onions and a whole range of pulses prices remained dearer to upset financial arrangements of several families. Some respite was offered by potatoes and other veggies that were correspondingly cheaper by 52% and 21 %.

Sugar was low as well. The drop in petrol and diesel prices essentially led the fall as annual inflation rate that remained in the negative territory last month similar to July. Meanwhile, people don’t have any clue when will the prices of edible bulbs will drop.

Onions are yet sold at INR 60 per kilogram in various regions. It is not easy for the people with bigger families to think of buying several kilos of pulses to meet the needs. Experts predict rates to decline soon, letting the majority get desired eatables without compromising on the quantity.
