4th Test – Pakistan Eye Fresh Start, While England Hope to Continue Good Show

pakNew Delhi, Wednesday, August 10 – Pakistan wish for a fresh start at Kennington Oval in London after being defeated by England in the third Test by a bigger margin of 141 runs. Except their terrific performance against English cricketers in the 1st Test of 4-match Test series where they logged a memorable win by 75 runs, Pakistan faced defeat in a row both at Old Trafford in Manchester and Edgbaston in Birmingham.

Great performances could now only come to their rescue as this is the last chance to end series by leveling it.  England, on the other hand, are keeping their feet on ground to feel confident about logging one more win in the series to defeat rivals 3-1 in the tournament. Pakistan fans are eagerly looking forward to see their team bounce back and save series. Despite Pakistan being capable of being on the victorious side, desired lead went into the pockets of England.

Misbah-ul-Haq is likely to get support from his squad at a moment where losing is not an option. It will be interesting to see who among Younis Khan, Sami Aslam, Shan Masood, Mohammad Hafeez, Azhar Ali, Asad Shafiq, Iftikhar Ahmed, Sarfraz Ahmed, Yasir Shah, Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Amir, Rahat Ali, Sohail Khan, Imran Khan, Mohammad Rizwan and Zulfiqar Babar get spot in the Playing XI. Alastair Cook – led side may or may not see any change. It wouldn’t be surprising to see the hosts going with any change in the squad in the 4th Test, which is to start from August 11. Gary Ballance, Joe Root, James Vince, Jonny Bairstow, Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes, Stuart Broad, Jake Ball, Alex Hales, Steven Finn, Adil Rashid and James Anderson know their roles perfectly well.

The English team is doing well in the longest format and might give no chance to the rivals to think of marking a comeback. Pakistan will try to do everything possible to not succumb to England. Batting hasn’t been impressive from most of the Pakistan players. Apart from making bowling skills the highlight, the tourists may hope for something good by making best use of the wicket in the upcoming match, which has put them in a do or die situation. Nothing else but putting best foot forward is the only option to achieve the goal. Partnerships are of huge significance. The hosts will make sure Pakistan batsmen do not weave partnerships, which can pose problems for them.

It is perhaps the time when Pakistan captain need to lead from front and let the group gain momentum. His players have the potential to shine but England have been pouring efforts to pocket win, which is crucial to stay ahead in the series. After being down post a defeat at the hands of Pakistan in the beginning, England were outstanding in the next two games. It is exciting to note what unfolds tomorrow after the final Test start. All preparations have been done. Players are all set for the action too.
